Head Teacher's Message - 20th December 2017

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thanks to everybody for making this term such a tremendous success. I have been overwhelmed by all your support and goodwill as I made the transition to Head teacher. It is a joy and a privilege to work with your amazing children and our fantastic, hard working and conscientious staff at St Thomas. Our results for 2016/17 have now been published. We are over the moon and very proud of all our children (past and present).

Years 6 - A.R.K.

Sampling Mrs Aydins' fairy cakes - ARK (acts of random kindness)

Years 5 & 6 - Multi Skills

Well done to the team of 16 children from Years 5 and 6 who participated in the indoor athletics event at Our Ladies Queen of Peace High school on Thursday 30th November 2017.
The field and track events were highly competitive with seven other local primary schools also displaying their sporting prowess.
It was a fun experience made all the better because of the outstanding attitude displayed by all the members of our team.

Year 4 - Handball Tournament

Congratulations to the Year 4 Handball team who participated in a fun evening of matches at West Lancashire College on Tuesday 28th November 2017.
The team won three out of the five matches; displaying determination and confidence in every game.
As usual, the behaviour of our St Thomas the Martyr children was outstanding.
Well done team!

Ofsted Feedback March 2013.....

Pupils in Years 1 to 6 achieve well. Results of national tests have rapidly improved and current attainment shows that pupils leave school with attainment above average in English and mathematics. More pupils reach the higher levels in reading, writing and mathematics tests.
